Unifying Providers To Deliver at Scale

At Australian Community Housing, we represent a diverse network of not-for-profit community housing providers, ranging from growth-focused providers to locally embedded organisations focused on tenancy management, support services and community development. Our members deliver secure, social and affordable housing to tens of thousands of Australians, including older women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, veterans, individuals with disabilities and families escaping domestic and family violence.

Advocating for Policy and System Reform

We advocate for policy settings and investment frameworks that enable the growth and sustainability of community housing. By engaging with government, industry and stakeholders, we aim to position community housing as essential social and economic infrastructure. Our advocacy efforts are informed by our members’ on-the-ground experiences and the sector’s demonstrated capacity to deliver impactful housing solutions.

Strengthening Capability

ACH is committed to strengthening the capability of community housing providers through:

  • Sector Development: Undertake projects to build the future of the community housing industry with a focus on practical solutions, effective partnerships and coordinated leadership to improve housing outcomes across Australia.
  • Communities of Practice: Facilitating active networks established by both founding organisations, including People & Culture, Disability Housing, Domestic and Family Violence, the Community Housing Climate Action Network, Community Development Australia CHP Network and others, supporting shared learning and sector innovation.
  • Events: Hosting conferences, roundtables and member consultations that bring together sector leaders, policymakers and stakeholders to explore challenges and shape solutions. – Resources and Tools: Developing and promoting sector-wide tools such as the ESG Reporting Framework and SIGMAH, an evidence-based tool to measure the broader social and economic impact of developments and support institutional investment.
What we do

Annual National Conference & Awards

The ACH National Conference, held annually in Canberra, brings together more than 500 sector and industry leaders, partners, parliamentarians, decision makers and international guests. The conference provides a platform to exchange ideas, showcase innovation, and share best practice in social and affordable housing, both in Australia and globally.

The event features Communities of Practice and Roundtable meetings, a Non-Executive Directors Forum, a Trade Show, and culminates in the ACH National Awards & Scholarships Dinner, celebrating excellence across the sector.
